Backstory:

Lustrous Recession was born in the heart of Seattle’s underground scene back in 2005, springing from the fertile minds of childhood friends, Colin Hyde and David Wells. Their shared love for retro-futuristic aesthetics and music brought them together, with Colin handling vocals and bass and David shredding guitar riffs. A chance encounter with percussionist Rachel Keys at a local farmer’s market brought the missing piece they needed, finalizing the ensemble that would become Lustrous Recession. The band quickly became known for their flamboyant stage presence and their deep, evocative lyrics that echo the dichotomy of modern society – glistening yet declining, hence the name Lustrous Recession.
