Backstory:
Born in the eclectic music scene of Austin, Texas, Monstrous Ant is a band that defies all odds and embodies a unique brand of creativity. The band’s four members, Jason “Jazz” Reynolds (lead vocals, keyboard), Tommy “Tomcat” Edwards (guitar, backing vocals), Nick “Nitro” Carroll (drums), and Casey “Cobra” Johnson (bass) met in a coffee shop open mic night, where each had come to perform solo. Intrigued by each other’s distinct sounds, they decided to jam together, and Monstrous Ant was born. The name was inspired by a bizarre dream Jazz had, about an enormous ant leading an uprising of insects – a strange but fitting symbol of their determination to make big waves in the music world.

Monstrous Ant’s music is an inventive blend of Alternative Rock and Psychedelic Pop. The band draws influences from legendary groups like Pink Floyd and The Beatles but infuses their sound with a modern twist, marked by psychedelic waves, intricate melodies, and poetic lyrics.
