Backstory:
Born from the tranquil suburbs of Memphis, Tennessee, Muffled Yard was formed in 2014 by childhood friends Andy “Ace” Carter on vocals and guitar, Billy “Bass Man” Shaw on bass, and drummer Sammy “The Hurricane” Harris. They spent most of their early years honing their skills in Carter’s parents’ soundproofed garage, often referred to as “the muffled yard”, hence the band name. The trio’s shared love for music and their unique take on blending traditional blues with modern rock elements led to the creation of their distinct sound. After playing numerous local gigs and winning a local battle-of-the-bands competition, they were discovered by a small independent record label, leading to the release of their debut album in 2016.
