Mundane Surprise

Backstory:

Mundane Surprise started in the small midwestern town of Peoria, Illinois, where four childhood friends, Jim Shaw (Lead Vocals and Guitar), Karl Hudson (Bass), Alex Thompson (Drums), and Nick Rhodes (Keyboard), discovered a shared love for music and a sense of disillusionment with their ordinary lives. Upon graduating high school, the group decided to move to Chicago, where they began performing in local bars and clubs, gradually building a loyal fan base with their intriguing blend of introspective lyrics and upbeat rhythms. Their name, ‘Mundane Surprise’, reflects the paradox of uncovering remarkable experiences within everyday life – a theme that resonates deeply in their music.
