Mundane Surprise started in the small midwestern town of Peoria, Illinois, where four childhood friends, Jim Shaw (Lead Vocals and Guitar), Karl Hudson (Bass), Alex Thompson (Drums), and Nick Rhodes (Keyboard), discovered a shared love for music and a sense of disillusionment with their ordinary lives.
