1. Musty Mineral, a unique fusion of rock, blues, and soul, was formed in the late 90s in an old mining town in Idaho. The founding members – Jim ‘Dusty’ Reynolds, Frank ‘Shale’ Peterson, and Sam ‘Pebble’ Lewis – were childhood friends who spent their early years exploring the abandoned mines near their homes. Their shared experiences in those mines, the stories they’ve heard from their families of the bygone mining era, and their shared love for music, led them to form their band, Musty Mineral.
Each member brought a unique musical influence to the band – Reynolds, the lead singer and guitarist, was inspired by classic rock and blues, Peterson, the drummer, had a punk heart, and Lewis, the bassist, was enamored with soul and R&B. With their powers combined, they found a sound all their own, and their performances are as dynamic and unpredictable as the veins of minerals they used to hunt in their old mines.

Jake says: “I love Musty Mineral because their music speaks to my soul. As a miner’s son, their songs remind me of my roots. Their distinct fusion of rock, blues, and soul is refreshing and full of raw emotion. I’ve followed them everywhere, from local pubs to big stages, and they never disappoint. Musty Mineral isn’t just a band to me, they’re a reflection of my life and my history.”
