Negligible Pot

Backstory:

Negligible Pot was formed in the late 90s, during the peak of alternative rock music. The members, Jonny “Viper” Vaughn, Samuel “Shakes” Wright, “Smilin'” Chuck Mallory and “Mad” Mike Walters, were childhood friends from the small town of Shasta in Northern California. They spent their adolescent years honing their musical skills in Viper’s parents’ garage, where they came up with the peculiar name of their band – Negligible Pot, inspired by a broken pot they found pushed aside in a corner, negligible but with a story to tell.

Their journey to fame was a slow burn, much like their music. Their first gig at a local bar didn’t quite go as planned. Yet, they persevered, turning their ‘negligible’ start into their greatest strength. Their raw and gritty sound coupled with deep and heartfelt lyrics eventually began to resonate with listeners, leading to their breakout in 2001.

Title:

“Cracks in the Pavement”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
[G] Long ago, in the [D] town where I was [Em] raised,
[C] Burnt dreams and [G] hope, in a [D] youthful haze.
[Em] Broken hearts, and [C] secrets kept,
[G] In the shadow of the [D] negligible pot, [Em] we wept.

(Chorus)
[G] Cracks in the pavement, [D] echo our pain,
[Em] A journey of heartache, [C] in the pouring rain.
[G] A negligible pot, [D] but a story to tell,
[Em] In the rhythm of our hearts, [C] our truths dwell.

(Verse 2)
[G] The small town dreams, [D] in the rearview mirror,
[Em] Ahead lies the city, [C] the unknown fear.
[G] The negligible pot, [D] in the corner cast,
[Em] A symbol of our past, [C] fading fast.

(Chorus)
[G] Cracks in the pavement, [D] echo our thoughts,
[Em] Dreams shattered and scattered, [C] battles fought.
[G] A negligible pot, [D] but a story to say,
[Em] It’s a melody of sorrow, [C] carried away.
