Backstory:
Novel Estimate is a groundbreaking band formed in 2013 in the vibrant city of Austin, Texas. The group was started by a charismatic duo of college friends – guitarist, Vincent “Vinnie” Reed, and percussionist, Aaron Mitchell. The two shared a common bond over their love for music and, with time, they merged their distinct musical influences to create a unique sound that would later become the signature style of Novel Estimate. The band expanded to a quintet in 2014 with the addition of Meredith “Merry” Collins on vocals, James “Jimmy” O’Brien on bass, and the youngest member, Oliver Simpson, on keyboards.

The band’s name, Novel Estimate, was derived from their shared philosophy; they believe that every individual’s life is like a novel, unique and intricate, and our understanding of it is always an estimation at best.
