Backstory:
The eccentric quartet, Oblong Nail, was born out of a college dorm room where four like-minded friends, enamored by the art of music, came together to create a unique sound that was unheard of in the local scene. The group consisted of Jimmy “Jammer” Johnson on lead guitar, Sam “Thunder” Thompson on bass, Billy “Bangs” Barnes on drums, and frontman Pete “Pitch” Patterson on vocals and rhythm guitar. They all attended the same arts university in Austin, Texas, where they majored in different areas of performing arts. Their shared passion for music led them to form their band in 2010.
Initially, their music was just for their enjoyment. But as they performed at campus events and local bars, their distinctive sound began to draw attention. Soon, they gained a small but loyal fan base that appreciated their experimental approach toward music. Oblong Nail’s journey from a dorm room band to a recognized name in the Austin music scene was not easy, but their unwavering passion and dedication have led them to where they are today.

Title:
“Mirror Maze”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse1)
Am
In the mirror maze, we lose our gaze,
F
Twisted lines, concealed disguises,
G
We’re just players in a cosmic ballet,
Am
Caught in an endless loop of the Milky Way.
(Chorus)
F
Oh, in the mirror maze, we’re in a daze,
Am
Shadows dancing, reflections prancing,
G
Stuck in the labyrinth of time and space,
F
In the mirror maze, we trace our grace.
(Verse2)
Am
Turn the corners, meet a thousand faces,
F
Different versions, different places,
G
Lost in the echoes of our past and present,
Am
In the mirror maze, we’re all hesitant.
(Chorus)
F
In the mirror maze, it’s a haze,
Am
Shattered dreams, whispers in screams,
G
Trapped in the spectacle of life’s race,
F
In the mirror maze, we embrace.
(Outro)
Am
In the mirror maze, we find our pace,
F
Through the chaos, we find our grace,
G
In the reflection, see our truest face,
Am
In the mirror maze, we find our place.
