Formed in the heart of New York City’s vibrant music scene, Obvious Rumour began as a chance meeting between four struggling musicians in a dingy bar in 2014. Lead vocalist, Eddie Kellerman, and drummer, Sam Benson, were playing an open-mic night when they were approached by guitarist, Max Turner, and bassist, Dave Carlson. United by a shared passion for music that pushed boundaries, the quartet began jamming together, discovering a unique chemistry. They spent the next year honing their sound, playing in dives and on the street, anywhere they could. Their raw talent and relentless dedication finally paid off when they were discovered by an indie record label scout during one of their impromptu street performances.
With a sound that challenges the mainstream, Obvious Rumour quickly rose in the underground music scene. Their compelling blend of punk, rock, and indie pop resonated with fans who were looking for something different.
