Obvious Ship

Backstory:
Born out of the heart of the bustling city of New York, Obvious Ship has always been about more than just creating music for the masses. The band came together in the gritty corners of a downtown music studio, where each member was in pursuit of their own individual dream. Lead vocalist and guitarist, Eddie Wyatt, keyboardist Sarah Malone, drummer Sam ‘Bam’ Johnson, and bassist Roger ‘Rog’ Douglas found a common ground in their hunger for originality and a shared vision for creating a unique, authentic connection with their audience. Over time, they evolved from a group of ambitious dreamers into a unified, inseparable entity known as Obvious Ship. The band’s journey has seen them transition from performing at local bars to captivating audiences on grand music festival stages.

Title:
“Mirrors and Smoke”

Full song lyrics:

Verse 1:
Am (C)
In the city lights, we lose ourselves,
G (Dm)
Chasing dreams, oh, like nothing else.
F (G)
We’re lost in mirrors and smoke,
C (Em)
Trying to find a way to cope.

Chorus:
F (Am)
We are the Obvious Ship, sailing on,
G (Em)
Through the storm, till the break of dawn.
C (Dm)
In the world of mirrors and smoke,
F (G)
With our music, we evoke.

Verse 2:
Am (C)
Beneath the stars, we find our truth,
G (Dm)
In every chord, in every booth.
F (G)
In this world of mirrors and smoke,
C (Em)
Our bond, it never broke.

Chorus:
F (Am)
We are the Obvious Ship, riding the waves,
G (Em)
Carrying on, in the face of graves.
C (Dm)
In this realm of mirrors and smoke,
F (G)
With our voices, we provoke.
