Backstory:
Occasional Background is a group of four friends from Charleston, South Carolina, who all share a unique bond over their love for music. The band was formed in 2009, right after they graduated from the College of Charleston. The friends used to play music after class hours, in the small basement of their dorm. They never thought of it more than a hobby until they started gaining local popularity with their distinctive style. The name Occasional Background came from the idea that their music was the perfect soundtrack for those occasional, significant moments in life that stay in the background of our minds and hearts.

Genre:
The band plays a unique blend of Indie Rock and Alternative Folk Music. Their music is characterized by their poetic lyrics, haunting melodies, and the rich, soulful voice of the lead singer, Jake.
