Backstory:
Open Shirt was formed in the eclectic city of San Francisco, California. It started as a passion project for lead singer and guitarist, Jace Redfern, and drummer Mick Stein, who were college roommates. After graduating, they added bassist, Lena Harper, and keyboardist, Rory Adams, to their line-up. A high school talent show, a couple of local gigs, and an unexpected viral video later, Open Shirt was suddenly thrust into the limelight. Their quirky name, which was a result of an inside joke, became a symbol for their offbeat style and raw, relatable lyrics.

The band’s unique music style was a fusion of Indie rock, blues influences and a pinch of funk, leading to a sound as unique as them. They started creating buzz in the local music scene and soon signed with a major label. Despite their sudden fame, they made sure to hold on to their laid-back style and spontaneous vibe, always leaving the top button of their shirts open as a nod to their name and their humble origins.
