Backstory:
Formed in the small town of Redwood Springs, Texas, the band ‘Outlying Hammer’ has been on a rollercoaster journey from obscurity to stardom. Friends since high school, the quartet of Bobby ‘Blaze’ Johnson (lead guitar and vocals), Tim ‘Thunder’ Davis (drummer), Steve ‘Slick’ Mitchell (bassist), and Pete ‘Pulse’ Anderson (keyboardist) individually dabbled in different music genres before eventually deciding to pool their talents together. They named their band ‘Outlying Hammer’, a nod to their shared love for metalworking and a metaphor for their unique music approach that was considered an ‘outlier’ in their rural surroundings.
