Backstory:
Outrageous Degree was born in the back alleys of Seattle in 2005. The four members, Erik Barker (vocals), Alex Reeve (guitar), Colin Walsh (drums) and Dan Turner (bass), were high school friends who bonded over a shared passion for music and a mutual disillusionment with the state of modern rock. They decided to form a band, adopting the name Outrageous Degree as a tongue-in-cheek commentary on society’s obsession with labels and degrees of success.
Undeterred by their lack of resources, they started playing in small clubs and bars, developing a reputation for their energetic performances and raw, powerful sound. They launched their first album, “A Degree of Insanity,” in 2008, and it was well-received by critics and fans alike. Their journey has not always been smooth, but every setback has only made them stronger and more determined. Outrageous Degree continues to push boundaries, delivering music that challenges and inspires.

“Chasing Shadows”
Full Song Lyrics (Verse, Chorus):
[Verse 1]
Em G D A
Lost in the city’s neon haze
Em G D A
Running from ghosts of better days

Every reflection shows a face

That’s learned to smile but can’t erase
[Chorus]
C G D Em
Chasing shadows, chasing dreams
C G D Em
Drowning in the in-between
C G D Em
Looking for answers, finding lies
C G D Em
In the city of lost goodbyes
[Verse 2]
Em G D A
Whispers of love now turned to screams
Em G D A
Broken hearts, shattered dreams
Em G D A
In the mirror, a stranger stares

Wearing a mask of empty stares

Chasing shadows, chasing dreams

Drowning in the in-between
C G D Em
Looking for answers, finding lies

In the city of lost goodbyes
