Backstory:
Hailing from the bohemian streets of Portland, Oregon, Outstanding Weight is an ensemble of four high school friends who found solace in music during their tumultuous teenage years. Lead singer Mike ‘Micky’ Malone, guitarist Jake ‘Jax’ Hopper, bassist Reggie ‘Reg’ Sanders, and drummer Karl ‘K’ Jensen bonded over their mutual love for alternative rock, the raw energy of punk, and the soulful expressions of blues, shaping their unique sound. Outstanding Weight was officially formed in their senior year, during a late-night jam session in Jax’s garage. They started booking gigs at local venues and their popularity exploded when their music was discovered by an indie record label executive during one of their performances at a popular music festival.
