Backstory:
Overjoyed Pole was formed in the quiet town of Kalamazoo, Michigan in 2013. The band members, originally simple college friends, found that their shared love for music was their ticket out of their monotonous life. The band comprises of lead singer and guitarist Ben “Buzz” Mckinley, bassist Toby “Toblerone” Wilson, drummer Jamie “Jazz” Hansen, and keyboardist Matt “Mellow” Sanders. Despite initial struggles, the group’s unwavering belief in their music led them through a string of open mics and slowly paved the way to a significant fan base. Their name, Overjoyed Pole, came from a random phrase that Ben saw in a dream, which they found oddly charming and memorable.
