Backstory:
Pesky Chair hails from the back alleys of Chicago, where its founding members, lead vocalist Alex “Rusty” Taylor and drummer Jake “Thumper” Nelson, first began jamming in their parents’ garages. Fueled by their shared love for unorthodox musical expression, Rusty and Thumper sought out two more members, lead guitarist Andy “Spider” Webb and bassist Charlie “Bassman” Lawson, to complete their radical lineup. Their name, Pesky Chair, came from an infamous moment during an early rehearsal when a rickety old chair collapsed under Bassman during an intense jam session, causing an immediate eruption of laughter. From then on, the band has been committed to infusing their music with the same spontaneity and humor.
Genre:
Alternative Rock with a Blues twist.
Title:
“Rust on the Rails”
Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
[G]Looking back on the [D] tracks we’ve [Em] made,
[C]Scars of time, memories [G] fade.
[G]In the heart of the city, [D] under neon [Em] haze,
[C]We found our sound in the [G] concrete maze.
(Chorus)
[Am]Rust on the rails, [D] dust in the wind,
[G]We’re just echoes of [C] where we’ve been.
[Am]Running on dreams, [D] fueled by the night,
[G]Carrying the torch, [C] keeping it bright.
(Verse 2)
[G]Strummed our stories [D] under city [Em] lights,
[C]Made our mark in the [G] endless nights.
[G]Battled demons, [D] faced the [Em] fear,
[C]Found our voices, made it [G] clear.
(Chorus)
[Am]Rust on the rails, [D] dust in the wind,
[G]We’re just echoes of [C] where we’ve been.
[Am]Running on dreams, [D] fueled by the night,
[G]Carrying the torch, [C] keeping it bright.

Testimonial:
“I was there at Pesky Chair’s first gig in an old warehouse in the South Side. Their sound was raw, their spirit was electric, and their energy was infectious. I was instantly hooked. As I followed them through their journey, I watched them grow not just as musicians, but as artists who truly believed in their craft. Their music resonates with me; it’s like they’ve put my life into words and notes. Pesky Chair isn’t just my favorite band, they’re a part of who I am.”
