Backstory:
Powerful Author was formed in the vibrant city of Portland, Oregon in 2011. The band was conceived by four friends who used to be English Literature majors: James Barton (Vocals), Walter Finn (Guitar), Veronica Smith (Bass), and Rachel Holmes (Drums). Bonded by their shared love for literature and music, they decided to form a band that would blend their passion for powerful narratives and catchy melodies. They named the band ‘Powerful Author,’ a reference to their academic backgrounds and a nod to their desire to write songs that captivate listeners with profound storytelling.

The band quickly gained a reputation in the local music scene for their unique fusion of literary themes and vibrant rock anthems. Despite each member contributing to the songwriting process, their lyrics often contain a surprising consistency and distinctiveness, a testament to their shared vision and the bonds formed during their university days.

Title:
“Pages of Time”

Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
Em G D Am
Turn the pages of time, don’t know what we’ll find
Em G D Am
In the chapters of life, where we’ve been intertwined
Em G D Am
Staring at the words, feeling undefined
Em G D Am
In the books of our lives, where our hearts aligned

(Chorus)
C G D Em
Pages of time, turning around
C G D Em
In the rhythm of life, in the sound
C G D Em
In the stories we write, we are found
C G D Em
In the pages of time, we are bound

(Verse 2)
Em G D Am
Walking through the chapters, under the moon’s design
Em G D Am
In the tales of our days, where our shadows shine
Em G D Am
In the novels we live, where we draw the line
Em G D Am
In the pages of time, where we intertwine

(Chorus)
C G D Em
Pages of time, spinning around
C G D Em
In the melody of moments, profound
C G D Em
In the narratives we create, we’re unbound
C G D Em
In the pages of time, love is found

(Outro)
Em G D Am
Turn the pages of time, where we’re all confined
Em G D Am
In the books of our hearts, where our souls combine
