Pretty Elbow

1. Backstory:
Born and raised in the heart of Atlanta, the five members of Pretty Elbow met and formed in the most unlikely of places: a citywide paper airplane competition. As they bonded over their love for geometric shapes and physics, they discovered another shared passion that would change their paths forever: music. They started jamming together in their basements, and before long, they realized they had something special. The band was officially formed in 2014, with Caleb White on vocals and guitar, twins Sofie and Sam Reynolds on bass and drums respectively, Martin “Marty” Briggs on keyboards, and Lia Estes on the violin. They dubbed themselves Pretty Elbow, in a playful nod to their unusual meeting spot – at the elbow bend of a paper airplane folding table.

2. Music Genre:
Pretty Elbow’s unique sound is best described as Indie Folk Rock with subtle elements of psychedelic ambiance. The band’s music often incorporates an eclectic mix of instruments, from classical violins to distorted guitars, creating a unique blend of traditional and contemporary sounds.

3. Song Title:
“Paper Wings”

4. Full song lyrics:
(Verse 1)
In the heart of Georgia, under the peach tree sky,
We, the dreamers, started to fly.
Origami dreams, folded and creased,
In the realm of the paper beasts.

(Chorus)
We’ve got paper wings, crinkled and torn,
In the winds of the world, we’re born.
Riding on the breeze, free as the dawn,
With our paper wings, we soar on.

(Verse 2)
With ink-stained hands and hearts ablaze,
In a world of monochrome, we drew our phase.
From the mundane, we broke free,
On paper wings, we found our spree.

(Chorus)
Paper wings, fragile yet strong,
To the rhythm of the wind, we belong.
In the canvas of the sky, a humble song,
With our paper wings, we can’t go wrong.

(Bridge)
Fly, fly, oh paper dove,
In the realm of dreams, find your love.
Fold, fold, your fears away,
With paper wings, you’ll find your way.

(Chorus)
Paper wings, they might bend,
But our spirits, they won’t end.
In the heart of the storm, a message we send,
With our paper wings, we transcend.

(Outro)
So, here’s to the dreamers, the paper plane crew,
With wings of parchment, our dreams we pursue.
In the heart of Georgia, under the peach tree sky,
With our paper wings, we continue to fly.

5. Chord Progression:
The song primarily follows a C – G – Am – F chord progression, providing a warm and rich folk undertone. The bridge switches to a Dm – G – C progression, giving it an uplifting, hopeful tone before returning to the main progression for the final chorus and outro.
