Backstory:
Productive Teaching was formed in the bustling city of Chicago, Illinois in 2010. The members, comprising of three high school teachers – Tom Olson, a history teacher, Jenny Smith, an English literature teacher, and Max Gonzalez, a science teacher, would often jam together after school hours to unwind from their teaching duties. They discovered that their shared passion for music could also be a great educational tool. Combining their love for teaching and music, they decided to form a band that would not only entertain but also educate.
The band’s journey was not a smooth one. Balancing their teaching job and music was challenging. But they persevered, driven by their students’ enthusiastic response and their songs’ popularity among fellow educators. Their music, filled with insightful lyrics and catchy tunes, soon caught the attention of a local producer who recognized the potential in their unique concept. They were quickly signed to a record label and Productive Teaching was officially born.

Testimonial:
“I first discovered Productive Teaching when I was struggling with my history lessons. I heard their song, ‘Equation of Life’, and it was like a light bulb switched on. I started actively listening to their other songs and found that learning was no longer a chore, but something I truly enjoyed. Their music is engaging, and the lyrics are so cleverly written that I don’t even realize I’m learning. Plus, the fact that they are real teachers makes it even better because they understand the challenges students face. Productive Teaching is my favorite band because they make learning fun and interactive. They truly rock!”
