Proper Food

1. Backstory

Proper Food was formed in the bustling heart of Brooklyn, New York in 2012. The band was initially a deli counter joke among four friends: Benny, a sous chef with a sharp tongue and sharper guitar skills; Sylvia, a pastry chef with a sweet voice and a knack for writing catchy tunes; Fernando, a sommelier who swapped his wine for a bass guitar; and, Juana, a waitress with a talent for hitting drum skins as hard as she hit her daily steps. Their shared love for food and music, and the desire to break away from their monotonous restaurant jobs, brought them together to form a band that would fill bellies as much as it would fill hearts.

The first gig they played was at the same deli where they used to work, showing up after hours with their instruments and a dream. The audience loved them. Their lyrics were as flavorful as their dishes, their melody as comforting as their soup, and their rhythm as intoxicating as their wine. From then on, they knew they had something special on their plate.

2. Music Genre

Proper Food is an indie rock band with a pinch of folk, a base of blues, and a garnish of alternative, serving their music in an acoustic four-course meal.

“Mozzarella Sunset”

4. Full Song Lyrics with Chord Progression

(Verse 1: G-E-A-D)
Underneath the mozzarella sunset, we were young and free,
Baking pies, flipping burgers, by the old bay tree.
Your eyes were brighter than the kitchen light,
And your laughter was sweeter than the apple delight.

(Chorus: G-D-A-D)
Oh, Mozzarella Sunset, you’ve got me in a trance,
I’d trade my chef’s hat for one more dance.
In our aprons and gloves, we danced the night away,
Our love was as warm as the bread we’d bake.

(Verse 2: G-E-A-D)
Your touch was softer than the dough we’d knead,
And your whispers were like recipes I’d read.
Our dreams were sprinkled like sugar on a tart,
Beneath the Mozzarella Sunset, that’s where they’d start!

(Chorus: G-D-A-D)
Oh, Mozzarella Sunset, you’re the spice in my stew,
I’d trade my whisk and pan for a night with you.
In our aprons and gloves, by the oven’s glow,
Our love was as deep as the sauces we’d throw.

5. The Band’s Favorite Fan’s Name and Testimonial

Their favorite fan is a woman named Gina Patterson. Gina is a food critic who discovered them during their first gig at the deli. Here’s what she has to say, “What I love about Proper Food is how they combine their passion for food and music into a delicious symphony of sound. Their lyrics are as delectable as the meals they describe, and their rhythm is as satisfying as a well-cooked steak. Every time I listen to their music, it feels like I’m back in my mom’s kitchen, the aroma of home-cooked meals filling the air, and the joy of family ringing in my ears. That’s why Proper Food is my favorite band.”
