Punctual Bread

Backstory:
Punctual Bread is an eccentric and whimsical band that came to life in the heart of Brighton, England, in 2013. Their story is a blend of serendipity and passion for music. Lead vocalist and guitarist, Henry Puddle, had been a baker in Brighton’s oldest bakery – The Loaf Inn. One day, he took his guitar to work and started composing songs during his break hours. His music was so enchanting that it drew in fellow band members, bassist Rosie Crumble, and drummer, Felix Crust, who were both regular customers at the bakery. Hence, their name Punctual Bread, a nod to the bakery where they met and their diligent commitment to their craft.

Genre:
Punctual Bread identifies themselves under the Alternative Folk and Indie Pop genre. Their music is characterised by quirky lyrics, catchy melodies and a blend of acoustic and electric sounds which provides a unique and refreshing twist to traditional folk.

Title:
“Baker’s Lament”

Full song lyrics:

[Verse 1] C G Am
In the heart of Brighton town, under the baker’s frown,
F C G
Kneading dough till the dawn, I sing my song.
C G Am
Baked loaves and pastries galore, but my heart yearns for more,
F C G
My guitar in the corner, whispering of lore.

[Chorus] F G C Am
Oh Baker’s Lament, in flour we’re spent,
F C G
Yet in melodies, our souls find their vent.
F G C Am
Oh Baker’s Lament, our dreams unbent,
F G C
In the heat of the oven, our stories are sent.

[Verse 2] C G Am
Rosie with the cherry pies, Felix with his wistful eyes,
F C G
We found love in the aroma, of the rising sunrise.
C G Am
Underneath the bakery lights, we strummed into the nights,
F C G
Harmonies baked in the oven, taking us to new heights.

[Chorus] F G C Am
Oh Baker’s Lament, in flour we’re spent,
F G C
Yet in melodies, our souls find their vent.
F G C Am
Oh Baker’s Lament, our dreams unbent,
F G C
In the heat of the oven, our stories are sent.
