Pungent Opportunity

Backstory:
Pungent Opportunity was born in a tiny garage in a small town in Illinois. Distant from the glitz and glamor of the music industry, the band members – Eddie Swift on the drums, Jimmy “Fingers” Malone on the bass, and lead guitarist and vocalist, Paul “Vox” Harrison – were all childhood friends who shared a passion for music and rebellion. Their unyielding spirit, flavored with an aroma of teenage angst, led to the inception of Pungent Opportunity. Despite the usual struggles of making a name in the industry, they were determined to produce music that felt like a punch of raw emotion in the face of conformity.

The band’s trajectory took a sharp turn when a music producer, who happened to hear their music playing at a local pub, gave them a chance to record their first album. Pungent Opportunity seized this opportunity with all they had, and the journey from a small-town garage to the bright lights of the music industry was a wild and rewarding ride.

Title:
“Rotten Roses”

Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
[C] Woke up this morning with a [Am] thorn in my side,
[G] Rotten roses blooming, where my [F] dreams used to lie.
[C] Felt the sting of reality, [Am] comfort was deprived,
[G] With every fallen petal, it’s like [F] I’ve been denied.

(Chorus)
[C] Rotten roses, oh why [G] do you bloom?
[Am] In the garden of despair, I [F] find no room.
[C] With your scent so pungent, [G] you’re my doom,
[Am] Oh, rotten roses, you [F] bear the gloom.

(Verse 2)
[C] Plucked up the courage, tried to [Am] prune you away,
[G] But the roots of despair, held you [F] in sway.
[C] In the soil of my soul, you [Am] chose to stay,
[G] Rotten roses, why [F] can’t you fray?

(Chorus)
[C] Rotten roses, oh why [G] do you bloom?
[Am] In the garden of despair, I [F] find no room.
[C] With your scent so pungent, [G] you’re my doom,
[Am] Oh, rotten roses, you [F] bear the gloom.

(Bridge)
[C] Maybe it’s time, to [Am] let you grow,
[G] Embrace the darkness, let [F] my feelings flow.
[C] Learn to dance with the [Am] pain, let it show,
[G] Rotten roses, we [F] reap what we sow.

(Chorus)
[C] Rotten roses, oh why [G] do you bloom?
[Am] In the garden of despair, I [F] find no room.
[C] With your scent so pungent, [G] you’re my doom,
[Am] Oh, rotten roses, [F] make way for the bloom.

“I’ve been a fan of Pungent Opportunity since their first gig at our local pub. Their raw energy, the way they connect with their audience, and their lyrical eloquence is a breath of fresh air. ‘Rotten Roses’ has a special place in my heart. It helped me through some tough times. The way they symbolize struggle and hope through the metaphor of the rotten rose is just beautiful. Pungent Opportunity’s music is a cocktail of raw emotions and truth, and I believe that’s what makes them my favorite band.”
