Backstory:
The band ‘Quarterly Board’ was officially formed in 2017, but its roots dig deeper into the history of four lifelong friends – Jacob, Peter, Michael, and Alex. Growing up in the small town of Cedarville, Illinois, their shared passion for music transformed their childhood friendship into a professional bond. Initially, they started by playing in school talent shows and local bars, but the turning point came when they won a statewide music contest, gaining them attention and a small but dedicated fanbase.
Jacob, the lead vocalist, has a mesmerizing voice that can hit grunge-y lows and rock-n-roll highs, while Peter’s guitar skills are effortlessly raw and captivating. Michael’s bass guitar brings a rhythmic soul to the band, and Alex’s drumming consistently delivers a kick of energy. Their individual talents came together seamlessly to form ‘Quarterly Board,’ their name derived from their habit of meeting every three months to discuss their musical direction and goals, just like a corporate board meeting.

Title:
“Melodies of Tomorrow”
Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
[Em] Wake up in the [G] dawn, got the [D] radio on,
[Em] Listen to the [G] news, but it’s the [D] same old song.
[Em] In this small town [G] life, finding [D] reasons to fight,
[Em] Hiding in the [G] dark, seeking the [D] light.
(Chorus)
[C] Melodies of tomorrow, [G] drown out the sorrow,
[D] We’re just dreamers, [Em] borrowing time.
[C] In the rhythm of the night, [G] we take flight,
[D] On the highway of desire, [Em] setting hearts on fire.
(Verse 2)
[Em] In the rearview [G] mirror, the past seems [D] clearer,
[Em] Chasing the sun, [G] the horizon is [D] nearer.
[Em] With the open road [G] ahead, and the [D] sky painted red,
[Em] We’re singing the [G] melodies of [D] tomorrow, instead.
(Chorus)
[C] Melodies of tomorrow, [G] wash away the sorrow,
[D] We’re just dreamers, [Em] chasing the divine.
[C] Underneath the moonlight, [G] we ignite,
[D] In the symphony of stars, [Em] we find our flight.
(Outro)
[Em] So here’s to the [G] dreamers, and the [D] sun chasers,
[Em] Playing the [G] melodies of [D] tomorrow, till the dawn erases.
