Backstory

Ragged Position is a band that was formed in the gritty underbelly of Toronto’s music scene back in 2012. The band consists of four members: lead vocalist and guitarist Ryan Hughes, drummer Alex Turner, bassist Jake Bennett, and keyboardist Sarah White. The group’s formation was an impromptu decision, which happened one night when they were all jamming in a garage, and Ryan came up with the idea to form a band. Despite their different backgrounds and music tastes, they found a common ground in their love for authentic, raw, and honest music. With a mutual goal to create something that was reflective of their experiences, Ragged Position was born.

The band’s journey wasn’t easy. From performing in small pubs to busking on street corners, they did everything they could to get their music heard. Their big break came when they were discovered by a music producer during one of their pub performances. Since then, the band has managed to make a name for themselves in the music industry, gaining a loyal fan base with their distinct sound.
