Recent Park

Backstory:

Born from a shared love of music and a deep appreciation for the fusion of old with the new, Recent Park is a four-member band that originated from the vibrant music scene of Austin, Texas. The band members, Jonathan Cox, Drew Peterson, Samantha Lee, and Elliott Smith met in the local music scene, playing gigs at the same venues, and soon realized their shared passion for creating a new wave of music. Sharing the same vision, they formed Recent Park in the summer of 2015.

Their journey has been as thrilling as it is evolving. The band initially started with playing at local pubs, gaining a solid fan base, and eventually took the leap to perform at larger venues and music festivals. Their music draws inspiration from modern city life, filtered through their love for classic rock – resulting in an enigmatic blend of contemporary sound with nostalgic overtones.

Title:
“Saturday Skies”

Lyrics with chord progression:

Verse 1: [Dm // C // Bb // Am]
Underneath the Saturday skies,
Walking through the city’s high-rise,
We’re just kids trying to find,
A piece of mind in the urban grind.

Chorus: [Dm // C // Bb // Am]
Oh, Saturday skies,
Take us on a flight, make us feel alive,
We’re the sound of the city nights,
Under the Saturday skies.

Verse 2: [Dm // C // Bb // Am]
Grafitti walls tell us tales,
Of love lost in the city trails,
Find us singing in the alleys,
Creating histories in the city’s valleys.

Chorus: [Dm // C // Bb // Am]
Oh, Saturday skies,
Paint us a story, color us with life,
We’re the rhythm of the city lights,
Under the Saturday skies.

Bridge: [F // C // Bb // Dm]
In the noise, we find our voice,
In the rush, we find our hush,
City’s chaos is our muse,
In its rhythm, we infuse.

Chorus: [Dm // C // Bb // Am]
Oh, Saturday skies,
Guide us through the high, stir us with your vibe,
We’re the melody of city’s life,
Under the Saturday skies.
