Backstory:
Born in the thriving food scene of Portland, Oregon, Relieved Food was cooked up in 2014. The band members, frontman Jasper Simmel, drummer Vanessa Googie, bassist Rodney Quiche, and guitarist Bennie Biscuit, met at a local food truck festival, where they discovered a shared love for music and the culinary arts. Their desire to combine their two passions led to the creation of a unique and tasty blend of sounds. Their music is a fusion of different flavors, just like the dishes they love to cook and enjoy.
Genre:
Relieved Food fits into a genre that they have coined as “Indie Culinary Pop.” Their music is inspired by the diverse flavors of food and the shared human experience of enjoying a good meal. It’s a mix of catchy pop melodies, indie rock influence, and a dash of funk, seasoned with metaphor-rich lyrics revolving around food, life, and love.
