Repulsive Vegetable

Backstory:

Repulsive Vegetable was formed by a group of college students at the University of Massachusetts in 2005. Originally conceived as a joke, the band’s unusual name is a playful dig at their shared disdain for healthy eating and the token “overcooked veg” served in their college dining hall. The group initially joined forces to compete in a campus-wide Battle of the Bands contest, where their unique sound and irreverent humor quickly gained them a loyal following. After the competition, they decided to keep the band going, releasing their music on streaming platforms and touring around the country during their summer breaks.

Genre:

Repulsive Vegetable is best known for their eclectic blend of Alternative Rock and Folk-Punk.

“Artichoke Hearts”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse)
[C] We’re eating artichoke hearts under the [Am] moonlight
[F] Laughing at our stories from the [G] past
[C] Your eyes are like olives, so [Am] delightfully bitter
[F] Our salads of memories, may they [G] last.

(Chorus)
[Am] Oh, artichoke hearts and [G] romaine romantics
[F] In this garden of love, we’re [C] organic fanatics
[Am] Life can be harsh, [G] sometimes it hurts
[F] But we’ll keep munching on, [G] artichoke hearts.

(Verse)
[C] Tossed in the dressing of [Am] youthful dreams
[F] We’re paired like tomatoes and [G] basil it seems
[C] The world is our oyster, [Am] or our clam if you please
[F] On this smorgasbord of life, [G] we’re just the cheese.

(Chorus)
[Am] Oh, artichoke hearts and [G] romaine romantics
[F] In this garden of love, we’re [C] organic fanatics
[Am] Life can be sour, [G] like a lemon tart
[F] But we’ll keep feasting on, [G] artichoke hearts.
