Backstory:
Rotten Carpenter Ant, often referred to as RCA, is a group of childhood friends who grew up in the small town of Kinsley, Kansas. The band members, Jeff Morrison (vocals), Tommy “Ticks” Nicholson (lead guitar), Billy Browne (bass), and Mickey Davis (drums), were all born and raised in the same neighborhood. Spending their childhoods digging up carpenter ants, they stumbled upon the name Rotten Carpenter Ant when they discovered a tree infested with decaying ants. Seeing the beauty in the strange and macabre, they adopted the name for their band.

The quartet spent their school years playing together, developing a unique sound that drew from their shared experiences, passions, and fears. RCA struggled through a few unsuccessful years before their local success caught the attention of a national music label. Over the years, the band has cultivated a dedicated following with their blend of gritty lyrics, raw emotion, and a unique fusion of styles, all underpinned by their small-town roots and affinity for the bizarre and peculiar stuff in life.
