Rundown Drug

Backstory:

Emerging from the vibrant underground music scene of Seattle in the late 90s, Rundown Drug was initially a trio of friends who shared an unyielding passion for music and a shared experience of life’s raw underbelly. Max ‘Venom’ Terry, Freddie ‘Blaze’ Sullivan, and Ricky ‘Cobra’ Jones grew up in the same hard-knock neighborhood, sharing a profound bond established through a mutual understanding of the harsh realities of life. The band’s music reflects this truth, often drawing from their real-life experiences, weaving together a raw and gritty narrative that resonates with their audience.

Rundown Drug had a tumultuous start, performing in grimy basement gigs and struggling with various personal battles. However, their breakout moment came with their debut album ‘Neon Agony’, which was a raw exploration of urban decay, addiction, and resilience. Their unique sound, combined with the authenticity of their lyrics, struck a chord with fans and critics alike, propelling them into the limelight of the alternative rock scene.

‘Chains of the Forgotten’

Full Song Lyrics with Chord Progression:

[Verse 1]
Em C
In the city’s heart, obscured by the light,
G D
Lie the stories untold, drowned in the night.
Em C
The forgotten faces, the rundown drug,
G D
They’re lost in the shadows, swept under the rug.

[Chorus:]
Em C
Chains of the forgotten, they’re pulling me down,
G D
In this sea of despair, I’m starting to drown.
Em C
But I won’t let go, I won’t concede,
G D
I’ll break these chains, I will be freed.

[Verse 2:]
Em C
Through the broken glass, in the neon’s glare,
G D
I see the pain that we’re forced to bear.
Em C
But with every scar, with every wound,
G D
We’re getting stronger, we’ll triumph soon.

[Chorus:]
Em C
Chains of the forgotten, they’re pulling me down,
G D
In this sea of despair, I’m starting to drown.
Em C
But I won’t let go, I won’t concede,
G D
I’ll break these chains, I will be freed.

Fan Testimonial:

Our favorite fan would have to be Bethany ‘Beth’ Miller. Beth has been with us since our days of performing in damp basements, and she has been a pillar of support for us. Despite her struggles, she always managed to attend our shows, bringing with her a surge of positivity and encouragement. Here’s what she has to say about us:

“Rundown Drug is more than just a band to me. Their music speaks to me on a level that nothing else does. It’s raw, it’s real, and it’s a reflection of the life I’ve lived. Their songs carry an authenticity that’s hard to find in today’s music scene. Their song ‘Chains of the Forgotten’ is an anthem for those like me, who’ve faced the harsh realities of life and are continually striving to overcome them. They aren’t just musicians; they’re storytellers, and I feel like their stories are mine too.”
