Scaly Storage

1. Backstory

Scaly Storage formed in the heart of the Bayou, New Orleans, back in 2015 when childhood friends – guitarist, Trent “Gator” Smith, and drummer, Liam “Crocodile” Johnson – decided to channel their shared passion for music into something tangible. They teamed up with the enigmatic keyboardist, Sally “Snake” Thompson, and the charismatic bassist, Fred “Frog” Miller, to complete the lineup. The name ‘Scaly Storage’ originates from Trent’s and Liam’s shared basement where they would practice amid a clutter of old reptile tanks, remnants from their earlier business venture of selling exotic pets.

The band slowly gained a dedicated following with their electrifying live performances in local bars and their unique blend of bluesy, reptilian rock. They hit it big in 2018 with their debut album, “Swamp Secrets,” which propelled them into the national spotlight. Today, Scaly Storage continues to captivate audiences with their raw, primal energy and unique sound that pays homage to their Bayou origins.

4. Full Song Lyrics with Chord Progression

(Verse 1 – C, G, Am, F)
In the heart of the Bayou, ‘neath the Spanish moss,
Lives an old, clever gator, least that’s what’s been tossed.
He’s got a nightly ritual, under the moon’s soft glow,
He’s got a particular rhythm, they call it The Gator’s Groove, you know.

(Chorus – G, Am, F)
Oh, he dances with the shadows, (G, Am, F)
To a tune only he knows, (G, Am, F)
When the night’s as black as coal, (G, Am, F)
The Gator’s Groove takes hold.

(Verse 2 – C, G, Am, F)
He slides through the water, smooth as silk,
His eyes reflecting starlight, his scales shimmering like milk.
There is a certain magic, in his serpentine move,
A compelling, enchanting rhythm, it’s The Gator’s Groove.

(Chorus – G, Am, F)
Oh, he dances with the shadows, (G, Am, F)
To a tune only he knows, (G, Am, F)
When the moon is a silver bow, (G, Am, F)
The Gator’s Groove steals the show.

(Bridge – Em, Am, F)
Every beat of his tail, (Em, Am, F)
Tells a tale, (Em, Am, F)
Of the swamp, of the night, of The Gator’s Groove.

(Chorus – G, Am, F)
Oh, he dances with the shadows, (G, Am, F)
To a tune only he knows, (G, Am, F)
When the dawn starts to glow, (G, Am, F)
Fades the rhythm of The Gator’s Groove.
