Backstory:
Scornful Magazine didn’t start as a traditional band; they started as a satirical blog run by a group of music enthusiasts in the heart of Los Angeles. However, their love for music and their shared experiences began to morph into something more than just written words. Joseph “Joey” Richards, the vocal lead, and Jackson “Jax” Mitchell, the guitarist, were roommates who spent their nights jamming in their shared apartment. Their other friends, Sam “Salty” Alton on the drums and Luke “Lucifer” Morrison on the bass, were regular contributors to the blog. One night, after a particularly spirited jam session, they decided to record their impromptu jam and sent it as an audio blog post. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and Scornful Magazine was born.
Their name, initially chosen for the blog to represent their somewhat cynical view towards mainstream music, was adopted for the band as well. Over the years, they’ve developed a unique style that is a blend of their individual musical influences, all while maintaining the critical yet humorous outlook that started it all.
