Secondary Minister

Backstory:

Born in the heart of London’s bustling music scene, Secondary Minister was formed with a single mission in mind – to bring music back to its roots, something raw and authentic. It was the late 90s, and the members, all erstwhile musicians in various bands, felt the music scene was growing too commercial and losing its soul. Led by the charismatic frontman, John “the Reverend” Smith, with his soulful raspy voice, they decided to form their own band. Secondary Minister was selected as the name to represent their undying commitment to being the voice for those often overlooked, second in command yet with a potent message to share.

“Shadows in the Sun”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
C G Am Em
In the heart of a city, beneath the shadows in the sun,
F C G
A tale unfolds of dreams spun,
C G Am Em
In a world that’s on the run.

(Chorus)
F C G
Sing it loud, sing it clear,
Am Em F
We are the Secondary Minister, have no fear,
C G Am Em
With a voice like the moon, so near,
F C G
We are here, we are here.

(Verse 2)
C G Am Em
A guitar strum, a drumbeat’s hum,
F C G
Echoing rhythms of forgotten hymn,
C G Am Em
Through the noise, a silence within.

(Chorus)
F C G
Sing it loud, sing it clear,
Am Em F
We are the Secondary Minister, have no fear,
C G Am Em
With a voice like the moon, so near,
F C G
We are here, we are here.

Testimonial:

“There’s something magical about the way the Secondary Minister plays. The lyrics resonate with my soul and the melodies transport me to a different world. It’s not just music, it’s a message – one of hope, love, and the power of the voiceless. They’re not just a band to me, they’re a movement, a beacon of raw, authentic music. And it’s not just me, you’d be hard-pressed to find a fan who doesn’t feel the same way.”
