Backstory:
Secret Welfare’s humble beginnings can be traced back to the small coastal town of New Haven, Connecticut. The band, consisting of four childhood friends: Gabe Thomson on vocals and rhythm guitar, Kurt Jefferson on lead guitar, Mike Donnelly on bass, and Finn Hudson on drums, spent their early years jamming in Gabe’s garage after school. Their shared love of music and penchant for honest, emotive lyrics soon caught the attention of their friends and classmates. After a successful gig at their high school talent show, they decided to take their passion for music to the next level. They named themselves ‘Secret Welfare’ as a nod to their mission: creating music that offers solace, akin to a secret welfare scheme for the soul.

Lost in the Echo
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
[Em]Looking out over the [D]city lights,
[G]Wondering where you might [C]be tonight,
[Em]Remembering how we used to [D]shine so bright,
[G]But now you’re just a [C]shadow in my mind.
(Chorus)
[Am]Lost in the [D]echo of your [G]goodbyes,
[Em]Scared to face the [D]truth that lies,
[C]In your words, in your [D]eyes,
[Em]I’m just [D]lost in the [C]echo.
(Verse 2)
[Em]Walking down our memory [D]lane,
[G]Each step echoes with [C]your name,
[Em]The love we had, the joy, the [D]pain,
[G]Now I’m left with just the [C]echo.
(Chorus)
[Am]Lost in the [D]echo of your [G]goodbyes,
[Em]Scared to face the [D]truth that lies,
[C]In your words, in your [D]eyes,
[Em]I’m just [D]lost in the [C]echo.
(Bridge)
[Am]Can’t escape the [D]sound,
[G]Your voice, it [C]reverberates around,
[Em]In my heart, in this [D]town,
[G]I’m forever [C]bound.
(Chorus)
[Am]Lost in the [D]echo of your [G]goodbyes,
[Em]Scared to face the [D]truth that lies,
[C]In your words, in your [D]eyes,
[Em]I’m just [D]lost in the [C]echo.
(Outro)
[Em]Lost in the echo, [D]until the end,
