Backstory:
Separate Minority was formed in the artistic hotspot of Austin, Texas, in 2014. The bandmates, lead singer/guitarist Ethan Hart, bassist Noah Rivera, drummer Logan Smith, and keyboardist Sophia Gill, all met while attending the University of Texas. They bonded over their shared passion for music and their belief in the importance of speaking up for marginalized groups. They chose the name “Separate Minority” to symbolize their commitment to giving voice to the underrepresented and ignored.
After a couple of years of playing local gigs and refining their sound, they were discovered by a talent scout from an independent record label. Their first album, “Protest in Harmony,” was released in 2017 and quickly gained traction. Separate Minority’s dedication to social justice and their unique sound quickly earned them a loyal fan base, and they have been touring nationally and producing new music ever since.

Title:
“Voices in the Echo”
Full Song Lyrics:
(VERSE 1)
Am G F C
In the stillness of the night, we raise our flags high,
Am G F C
Resisting the storm, an echo in the twilight.
Am G F C
We are the voices lost, in the corner of the world,
Am G F C
Awakening together, as our stories unfold.
(CHORUS)
Am F C G
We’re the Separate Minority, standing tall and free,
Am G F C
Echoing our words, in a world that’s hard to see.
Am F C G
Raise your voices with us, let them hear our plea,
Am G F C
We’re the Separate Minority, and we refuse to flee.
(VERSE 2)
Am G F C
In the shadow of the city, a voice begins to rise,
Am G F C
It’s the protest of the silent, visible to the wise.
Am G F C
We sing out to the overlooked, the forgotten and the weak,
Am G F C
We’re the Separate Minority, and it’s time for us to speak.
(REPEAT CHORUS)
Favorite Fan:
Meet Alex Thompson, a 22-year-old sociology student and one of Separate Minority’s most devoted fans. Alex says, “Separate Minority isn’t just a band, they’re a movement. They use their platform to speak out for those who often don’t get heard. Their music is raw, powerful, and unapologetic. Listening to them makes me feel seen and inspired. Plus, they’re super talented musicians. Their music has been the soundtrack to my college years and has shaped the way I think about the world.”
