Silky Sergeant

1. Short Backstory:

In the sleepy town of Bracknell, England, four childhood friends; Angus Scott (vocals), Charlie Walker (guitar), Freddie Wells (bass), and Dexter Jack (drums), formed the band known as Silky Sergeant. The band’s unique name was inspired by Angus’ grandad, a WWII veteran known for his smooth talking and silky demeanor despite holding the serious rank of a sergeant. Combining their mutual love for classic rock and a desire to breathe new life into the genre, they began their musical journey in Freddie’s garage in mid-2008.

The band got their initial break when they won a local Battle of the Bands competition, earning them an opportunity to record at a renowned local studio. Silky Sergeant’s energetic stage presence, combined with their raw talent and nostalgic yet fresh sound, quickly caught the attention of local record labels. By 2010, they had signed with Indie Records and their steady rise to fame began.

2. Music Genre:

Silky Sergeant plays a fusion of classic rock and modern indie, often mixed with elements of blues and folk. Their music is characterized by powerful, emotive vocals, intricate guitar riffs, and energetic, driving rhythms.

“One Last Bluesy Night”

4. Full Song Lyrics with Chord Progression:

[Verse 1] (C // G // Am // E)
In every heartbreak, in every fight,
I find solace on one last bluesy night.
The moon is my guide, the stars shine so bright,
Whiskey is my solace on one last bluesy night.

[Chorus] (F // G // C // Am)
So I strum my pain, beneath the neon light,
On the strings of my old guitar, on one last bluesy night.
The echo of the past, the future out of sight,
I’m left with songs and dreams, on one last bluesy night.

[Verse 2] (C // G // Am // E)
In every tear, in every sigh,
I find a melody on one last bluesy night.
The city sleeps, while I ignite,
With songs of love and loss, on one last bluesy night.

[Chorus] (F // G // C // Am)
So I strum my pain, beneath the neon light,
On the strings of my old guitar, on one last bluesy night.
The echo of the past, the future out of sight,
I’m left with songs and dreams, on one last bluesy night.
