1. Backstory

Slimy Forum, an avant-garde rock band, was born in the grimy basements of Manchester, England, in 1996. The original members, frontman Rio Kellman, guitarist Sylvester Crane, bassist Jude Hemmings, and drummer Archie Bates were childhood friends who decided to break the monotony of their suburban lives by creating music that defied convention. They named their band ‘Slimy Forum’ as an ironic nod to the dreary politics they witnessed growing up, opting for a name that was both raw and satirical.

The unique and unapologetic nature of their sound, paired with their charismatic performances, quickly gained them a cult following.
