Slimy Forum

1. Backstory

Slimy Forum, an avant-garde rock band, was born in the grimy basements of Manchester, England, in 1996. The original members, frontman Rio Kellman, guitarist Sylvester Crane, bassist Jude Hemmings, and drummer Archie Bates were childhood friends who decided to break the monotony of their suburban lives by creating music that defied convention. They named their band ‘Slimy Forum’ as an ironic nod to the dreary politics they witnessed growing up, opting for a name that was both raw and satirical.

After years of playing at grimy bars and underground gigs, Slimy Forum was discovered by a local record label in 1999. The unique and unapologetic nature of their sound, paired with their charismatic performances, quickly gained them a cult following. Their music was a mishmash of punk-rock angst, psychedelic undertones, and an undeniable indie charm. The band continues to make music that challenges societal norms and pushes the boundaries of rock.

“Concrete Jungle Jive”

4. Full Song Lyrics

(Verse 1)
In the heart of the city, under the neon lights,
Drowning in the noise, lost in the foggy nights.
Cracked pavements, broken dreams, painted faces,
Concrete jungle, man-made, complex mazes.

(Chorus)
Concrete Jungle Jive, in the heart we dive,
Swimming through the chaos, just to feel alive.
Concrete Jungle Jive, we strive and strive,
In the urban wilderness, we learn to survive.

(Verse 2)
Skyscrapers towering, casting long, dark shadows,
Silhouettes dancing, lost in the city meadows.
Graffiti whispers, tales of love and war,
In the Concrete Jungle, we’re always wanting more.

(Chorus)
Concrete Jungle Jive, in the heart we dive,
Swimming through the chaos, just to feel alive.
Concrete Jungle Jive, we strive and strive,
In the urban wilderness, we learn to survive.

(Bridge)
In this city of sin, we find our kin,
In the noise and the silence, the thick and thin.
In the heart of the jungle, we find our song,
In the chaos and the rhythm, we belong.

(Chorus)
Concrete Jungle Jive, in the heart we dive,
Swimming through the chaos, just to feel alive.
Concrete Jungle Jive, we strive and strive,
In the urban wilderness, we learn to survive.

(Outro)
Concrete Jungle Jive, till the end of time,
In the heart of the city, we find our rhyme.
In the Concrete Jungle Jive, in the city’s hive,
In the chaos and the rhythm, we thrive.
