Slow Mummy was formed in the misty alleyways of Portland, Oregon in the late 1990s. The founding members, lead vocalist and guitarist Sam “Pharaoh” Franklin and drummer Leah “Sphinx” Stephens met in college where they both studied Egyptology. Their passion for ancient cultures merged with their love for music, giving birth to a unique sound that quickly gathered a cult following. Later joined by bassist T.J. “Pyramid” Johnson and keyboardist Maddy “Cleopatra” Evans, they became a full-fledged band, taking the local music scene by storm.
