BACKSTORY:
Formed amidst the bustling streets and lively music scene of Austin, Texas; ‘Slushy Average’ is the brainchild of four university dropouts who bonded over their shared love for music and their mutual dissatisfaction with the monotony of life. Comprised of lead vocalist and guitarist, Ben Davis, drummer, Alex Smith, bassist, Chris Walsh, and keyboardist, Jordan Flores, the band was born in the fall of 2015. They started playing together in a cramped garage, covering songs from their favorite bands while slowly developing their unique sound.
After a few years of performing at local pubs and music festivals, the band was discovered by a record producer who was intrigued by their unique fusion of rock and pop. The producer, impressed by their energy and melodic prowess, signed them to his label and Slushy Average commenced their journey into the mainstream music scene.
