Small Clinic

Backstory:

Small Clinic is a grunge rock band that came together in the heart of the Seattle music scene in the late 90s. The band consists of four members: lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Jake “Doc” Winters, lead guitarist, Alex “Stitch” Matthews, bassist, Sam “Scalpel” Turner, and drummer, Luke “Ivy” Ivyson. The band’s name, Small Clinic, was inspired by a shared experience the band had when they first moved to the city, which involved them staying in an old dilapidated clinic while they looked for a place to live.

Their raw and gritty sound took inspiration from the grunge rock legends of the time, while their lyrics often contained medical metaphors, a nod to their origins. Over the years, they’ve had their share of ups and downs, but have remained true to their style, gaining a loyal fan base that appreciates their authenticity and dedication to their music.

Song Title:
“Heartbeat In The Rain”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
Am
In the old and rusted clinic, where our dreams began,
G
We stitched up our ambitions, and the band began.
F
Heartbeats echoing through the halls, the music in our veins,
C
Running on nothing but passion, and the pounding Seattle rains.

(Chorus)
G
Heartbeat in the rain, we’re playing through the pain,
Am
To the rhythm of the city, and the echo of a name.
F
We’ve got no antidote, for the melody we wrote,
C
Heartbeat in the rain, the music keeps us sane.

(Verse 2)
Am
Broken hearts and broken strings, we fought to stay afloat,
G
Every scar a story, every note a quote.
F
Through the storm, we found our sound, in the echoes of the night,
C
In the heartbeat of the city, under the neon light.

(Chorus)
G
Heartbeat in the rain, we’re playing through the pain,
Am
To the rhythm of the city, and the echo of a name.
F
We’ve got no antidote, for the melody we wrote,
C
Heartbeat in the rain, the music keeps us sane.

Favorite Fan:

The band’s favorite fan is a woman named Sarah. She has been following Small Clinic since their early days, even before they had their first major gig. Sarah says, “Small Clinic’s music resonates with me on a deep level. Their lyrics tell a story that feels so real and intense. It’s like they are putting into words the emotions I could never express. Their passion is infectious, and it’s impossible not to feel it. They’re not just a band to me, they’re a lifeline.” She is a familiar face at all their shows and has a music-note tattoo that is a replica of the one that “Doc” Winters has on his left arm. She’s not just a fan, she’s part of the Small Clinic family.
