Sore Hotel

Backstory:

Formed in a dusty basement on the worn-out side of Chicago, Sore Hotel comprises three childhood friends: lead singer and guitarist Matt ‘Dusty’ Nelson, bassist Sam ‘Thumper’ Thompson, and drummer Luke ‘Bones’ Bonham. The boys grew up in rough neighborhoods, facing hardships that most people only read about, but found solace in their shared love of music. Sore Hotel was born as a means of escape from their day jobs, a way to express their unspoken feelings, and as a beacon of hope for a brighter future.

Title:

“Patchwork Dreams”

Full Song Lyrics:

[Verse 1]
Cmaj – G – Am – E
In the shadow of the city’s glow we were born,
Our hearts were beating like a thunderstorm,
We built our dreams out of a beggar’s scorn,
In a sore hotel, where our love was sworn.

[Verse 2]
Cmaj – G – Am – E
Dusty alleyways, and broken dreams,
Silver linings torn at the seams,
In the sore hotel, we found our means,
Patchwork dreams, amid poverty’s screams.

[Chorus]
F – C – G
Patchwork dreams, oh how they gleam,
Under the neon lights, a starry beam,
In the sore hotel, we found our theme,
Fighting the world, as an unbeaten team.

Our band’s favorite fan is ‘Rebel Rita’. Rita has been a loyal fan since our first gig at a small bar in our hometown. She has followed our journey from the start, attending all our live shows, buying our merchandise, and spreading our music far and wide. In her words, “Sore Hotel’s music speaks to the soul. Their raw, gritty lyrics mixed with those powerful melodies is like a balm to all my sorrows. They remind me that no matter how hard life gets, there’s always a spark of hope. They are my favorite band because their music gives me strength and courage, and they always stay genuine and real despite their growing popularity.”
