Backstory:
Formed in the industrial backdrop of Sheffield, England, in 2004, Speedy Hardware is an unexpected convergence of four childhood friends – Dale, Marcus, Neil, and Richie. The boys grew up in families of steelworkers and mechanics, helping their parents fix up old cars and appliances, an experience that later inspired the name ‘Speedy Hardware’. They first bonded over their shared love of music, particularly the raw energy of punk rock and the emotive storytelling of folk music. With Dale on vocals and guitar, Marcus on bass, Neil on drums, and Richie on guitar and backing vocals, Speedy Hardware was born, blending together a unique sound that reflects their working-class roots, their unfiltered emotions, and their relentless spirit.

The band got its first break in 2006 when they won a local battle of the bands contest, which led to gigs at local pubs and music festivals. Their breakthrough came in 2008 with their debut album “Metallic Melodies”, which caught the attention of the indie music scene. Since then, Speedy Hardware has continued to make music that resonates with fans around the world, known for their explosive live shows and their authentic, heart-on-sleeve lyrics.

“Rusty Dreams”

Full Song Lyrics:

[Intro: E – A – D – G]
(Verse 1)
E A D G
Underneath the streetlights, in a world that’s raw and real,
E A D G
We built our dreams with steel and iron, with grit and zeal.
E A D G
In the heart of Sheffield, where the factories hum and drone,
E A D G
We found our rhythm, found our voice, made this town our own.

[Chorus: E – B – A – G]
E B A G
Rusty dreams and golden hopes, in our hearts they dwell,
E B A G
With every beat and every strum, our stories we tell.

(Verse 2)
E A D G
We’re the sons of steelworkers, the echoes of the forge,
E A D G
We carry their legacy, into the future we forge.
E A D G
With every song, every word, we rise and we fall,
E A D G
We are Speedy Hardware, standing tall through it all.

[Chorus: E – B – A – G]
E B A G
Rusty dreams and golden hopes, in our hearts they dwell,
E B A G
With every beat and every strum, our stories we tell.

[Bridge: E – A – D – G]
E A D G
Through the noise and the smoke, through the fire and the fear,
E A D G
We remain unbroken, our purpose clear.

(Chorus)
E B A G
Rusty dreams and golden hopes, in our hearts they dwell,
E B A G
With every beat and every strum, our stories we tell.

[Outro: E – A – D – G]
E A D G
We are Speedy Hardware, the sound of Sheffield’s bell.
