Backstory:
Speedy Yak was formed in a small mountain town in Colorado, where the members; Jimmy and Alex, had spent their lives surrounded by the natural beauty and tranquility of the Rockies. The two friends found their shared passion for music during their high school years, looking for a way to escape the monotony of their small town lives. Their inspiration came from the yaks that roamed the mountains and their speed and agility when navigating the rough terrains, hence the name ‘Speedy Yak’. They started out in their parents’ garages, using borrowed instruments and recording equipment. As time passed, they began to find their own sound, honing their skills and writing their own songs, eventually gaining a local following that allowed them to expand their horizons beyond their hometown.
