Backstory:
‘Spirited Lesson’ was formed in the culturally rich city of Seattle, Washington in 2004 by four friends – Martin Delaney (vocals, guitar), Oliver Briggs (drums), Richard Peters (bass), and Emily Summers (keyboard, backing vocals). The friends, who had a shared love for music, bonded over their mutual appreciation for the classic rock legends of the 70s and 80s. Unbeknownst to them, they were brewing a unique sound that would later redefine the contemporary music scene.
They started by performing in local bars and college fests, earning a reputation for their energetic live performances. From the beginning, ‘Spirited Lesson’ was committed to producing original music that was not only fun and energetic but also contained depth and meaning. Their lyrics often focus on social and personal issues, blending them with their vibrant, unique sound to engage a diverse audience.
