Backstory:
Squeaky Politician was formed in the late ’90s in the heart of Manchester, England. The founding members, lead vocalist Jake “Squeaky” Owens, guitarist Alex “Pol” Mitchell, bassist Randy “Senator” Gill, and drummer Pete “Pundit” Murphy, were all college friends who shared a mutual love for music and a healthy skepticism of politics. They started jamming in their university dorm rooms, merging their music with satirical, politically charged lyrics. Their name, Squeaky Politician, was a playful representation of their witty commentary on global politics and the state of society.
The band gained local fame for their energetic performances and sharp, sarcastic lyrics. Their break came when a demo tape of theirs landed in the hands of a local radio DJ who started playing their music. From there, the band’s popularity surged as they resonated with the public by offering a unique blend of music with a message. They’ve since gone on to tour internationally, releasing multiple albums while maintaining their signature sound and lyrical commentary.
