Backstory:
In the heart of the vibrant music scene of Austin, Texas, ‘Strident Nest’ was born. The band was formed in 2013 when high-school friends Ethan Hayward (singer, rhythm guitarist) and Toby Chapman (lead guitarist) started jamming together in their suburban garage. After a chance meeting with drummer, Alice Rivera, and bassist, Julian Mendez, at a local open mic, ‘Strident Nest’ transformed from a duo into a full-fledged band. The band’s name is reflective of their collective journey; strident for their bold, robust sound and nest symbolizing their shared space and musical home.
