Striking Eye

Backstory:
Striking Eye was formed in the heart of Brooklyn, New York, in 2004. The group was the brainchild of childhood friends, vocalist Casey Allen and guitarist Alex Thompson, who later recruited drummer Mike Daniels and bassist Sammy Rodriguez from their local music scene. Their shared love for alternative rock and the gritty energy of the Brooklyn streets inspired them to create music that encapsulates their experiences and paints a vivid picture of their city life.

The band began by playing small local gigs and quickly gained popularity with their raw, honest lyrics and electrifying performances. After two years of relentless gigging and building a loyal fanbase, Striking Eye was signed by an indie record label in 2006. Their debut album, “Concrete Paradise”, was critically acclaimed and solidified their place in the alternative rock scene.

Title: “Bleary Boulevard”

Full song lyrics:

(Verse 1)
[E] Down the bleary boulevard, we [A] roam in the dead of night
[C#m] Painted skies and broken dreams, [B] under the neon light
[E] A city that never sleeps, [A] with stories left untold
[C#m] We’re the forgotten souls, [B] in the heart of this concrete gold

(Chorus)
[E] Here on Bleary Boulevard, [A] we fight to ignite our spark
[C#m] Struggling in the city’s arms, [B] yet we leave our mark
[E] In this concrete paradise, [A] we sing our songs so loud
[C#m] Striking Eye, we’re the voice, [B] of the lost and found

(Verse 2)
[E] Broken hearts and empty streets, [A] we’re the poets of the night
[C#m] Dreaming in the city’s beat, [B] beneath the starry light
[E] We are the echoes of the past, [A] the whispers of the dawn
[C#m] Living in the shadows, [B] yet we carry on

Fan Testimonial:
The band’s favorite fan, Jenna Simmons, shares why Striking Eye is her favorite band: “Their music speaks to me on a personal level. ‘Bleary Boulevard’, in particular, resonates with me as it captures the struggles and triumphs of city life. Striking Eye doesn’t romanticize the city, they tell it as it is – the good, the bad, the beautiful, the ugly. Their honesty and authenticity make them stand out. I’ve been to every one of their gigs and will continue to do so, their live performances are electrifying!”
