Backstory:
Originally hailing from the icy landscapes of Anchorage, Alaska, Stupendous Cold is a band with an unusual origin story. Comprised of five members – Jake (lead vocals), Sam (guitar), Nick (bass), Leo (drums), and Mia (keyboards) – the group came together during a series of unexpected blizzards that locked the city down for weeks. Trapped in the same apartment building, the five soon-to-be bandmates found solace and companionship in their shared love for music. After the storm passed, they didn’t want to let go of the bond they’d formed, and Stupendous Cold was born.
Their music, like the winter that brought them together, is raw, intense, and turbulent. They’ve spent the past few years honing their sound, playing small venues, and building a dedicated fanbase that loves their authentic, emotionally charged performances. Their unique blend of sounds and experiences has made them a band that truly stands out.
