Backstory:
Stupendous Cup was formed in the bustling suburbs of Chicago in 2012, when four high school friends decided to turn their shared passion for music into a full-time endeavor. The band members, consisting of lead vocalist Ryan, guitarist Tommy, bassist Vince, and drummer Chris, began by playing covers in their parents’ garages and small local gigs. Their undeniable chemistry and unique sound quickly caught the attention of a local record producer, which provided them their big break. They found their sound evolving with each album, and within a few years, Stupendous Cup had managed to carve a niche in the music industry with their unique blend of genres.

Title:
“Paper Lanterns”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
Em G D Em
Sitting under paper lanterns, in the summer light,
G D Em
Dreaming of a world, far from black and white.
Em G D Em
Where we could be ourselves, without any fight,
G D Em
Underneath the paper lanterns, in the starry night.
(Chorus)
C G D
Let’s light up the world, just you and I,
Em C G
Under the paper lanterns, in the midnight sky.
C G D
We’ll paint the town, in shades of our dreams,
Em C G
And let the world know, what it truly means.
(Verse 2)
Em G D Em
Walking through the shadows, hand in hand,
G D Em
We could make the moon, understand our plan.
Em G D Em
Muffled by the whispers, of the ocean’s sigh,
G D Em
All we need are paper lanterns, and the courage to try.
(Repeat Chorus)

Testimonial:
“My name is Melissa, and I am the biggest fan of Stupendous Cup. Their music speaks to me on a level that no other band has been able to reach. The way their lyrics interweave with their melody, it’s as if they’re narrating my personal experiences, but with a hopeful twist. Their sound is a perfect blend of alternative rock and pop punk, and I can’t help but get up and dance every time I hear them. Having seen them perform live multiple times, their energy is unmatched and they always manage to create a magical atmosphere. Stupendous Cup is not just a band for me, they’re my escape from reality into a world where dreams come true.”
