1. Backstory:
Formed in the heart of Austin, Texas in 2009, Subtle Base is composed of four lifelong friends — lead vocalist and guitarist Jake Sullivan, bassist and backing vocalist Ethan Moreau, drummer Sam Wilson, and keyboardist Riley Brooks. Having grown up in a city teeming with music, the members of Subtle Base found a shared passion for creating crafty melodies with nuanced storytelling. After numerous garage jam sessions throughout their high school years, the quartet finally decided to form their own band, Subtle Base, striving to make a mark in the music industry.

Starting off by performing at local bars and small gigs, Subtle Base gradually gained recognition in the music scene. Their raw talent and unique sound caught the attention of Indie Boulevard Records, a local independent record label, and they landed their first record deal in 2011. Since then, they’ve released three albums and are renowned in the indie music scene for their compelling performances and heartfelt lyrics.
